Flying Fox
One of the activities we did at Sonshine Ranch was called the Flying Fox. We staggered up the hill to the starting platform with the heavy pulley in our hands. Hearts thumped as the parent on the platform hooked us on to the carabiner. ”Run and leap off the platform like superman flying after his enemy!” the parent shouted. We leapt off the platform and soared down the great big valley like a hawk.

Pikelet Heaven
On Thursday, we made pikelets. It was pikelet heaven! First we had to mix the ingredients together. The parents turned the stove on and then it was all up to us. We melted the butter, put the mixture in the pan and of course, ate the decadently delicious pikelets we made!

  3. Pikelet heaven - sounds like an awesome place. Decadent - what an awesome word. Someone in Room 7 is a word wizard, I reckon.
Also like some of the language in the Flying Fox piece;'staggering','hearts thumped','heavy pulley' - heavy duty language that helps to create a strong image. Who's the wordsmith?

  4. Hello Room 7,
My name is William from Room 5:
That flyig fox looks really high. I wonder if the wire would break. You guys were almost like 007 on a flying fox.

Q1: How do you stop when you get to the end?

Q2: How long was the flying fox?

Q3: Were any of you scared when you jumped off the high valley?
